Family-Centered End-of-Life Care across the Life Span
Description
This course explores nurses' involvement in family-centered end-of-life care. How a health-care team approach can address the myriad needs facing individuals and their families at this time of life is discussed. Principles of hospice and palliative care are used as a guide for this curriculum. Factors involved in expert nursing care which have the potential to greatly reduce the burden and distress of those facing life's end and the ability to offer support for the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of patients and their families are presented.
