Degree Designation
This is a career development degree for individuals who already hold an A.A.S. degree from a clinical healthcare program with clinical licensure, or graduated from an articulated program. This degree is only open to senior-level students who graduated with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. It provides students with the knowledge and skills of overseeing healthcare systems and the delivery of healthcare services.
Learning Outcomes
Articulate the role of supervisors, managers, directors, and administrators in health services organizations.
Demonstrate entry-level management skills to plan, organize, direct, and control the function and processes of a health service organization.
Apply budget information and financial analysis to making decisions within health service organizations.
Evaluate laws and policy regulations as well as apply appropriate legal decisions to the administration of health services organizations.
Collect, interpret, and apply data and research findings.
Exercise proficient communication skills including written and oral communication.
Engage in formal presentations and demonstrate technology competency with various electronic media.
Integrate science, mathematics, humanities, critical thinking, information literacy, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving skills
Articulation Agreements
The program has an articulation agreement with the AS in Public Health from BMCC and an option to earn a graduate degree from CUNY School of Public Health with one additional year of full-time study.

City Tech students enrolled in the BS in Healthcare Policy and Management program and who successfully complete the 4+1 program application process at the School of Public Health can take graduate level courses during their junior and senior years at City Tech, with these courses counting towards both their undergraduate and graduate degrees. Undergraduate tuition is paid until the 120 credits needed for the bachelor’s degree are completed. The BS and MPH/MS degrees can be completed in five years rather than six, saving both time and money. Please refer to this document for more information.
Distance Learning Information
The BS in Health Services Administration has been approved by NYSED and MSCHE to be offered as a fully online program.
This degree program does not accept international students needing an F-1 visa, because we cannot guarantee that students will be able satisfy the Department of Homeland Security requirement that students maintain their full-time status and do not take more than 3 credits online each semester (dhs.gov). A significant component of this program is offered online.
