Application Development with Databases

This course is an overview of the design and implementation of 2-tier Java Applications. It will explore the concepts and processes that connect a Graphic User Interface (GUI) developed in Java programming language to a database using JDBC. Working through projects, students will learn to create applications that connect to databases, execute SQL commands and manipulate data sets retrieved from databases. Several advanced Java database applications will be studied, such as stored procedures, scrollable and updateable result sets, row sets and storing/retrieving images from a database.
