The City Tech Business Department is dedicated to providing a comprehensive, accessible education that prepares students for successful careers across various business sectors. Our mission is to offer innovative and flexible degree programs that address the evolving demands of the business world.

With degrees in Accounting, Marketing Management and Sales, the Business and Technology of Fashion, and Ophthalmic Dispensing, our department equips students with the foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to excel in these dynamic fields. Additionally, our Business minor for non-majors empowers students across disciplines with essential business acumen, enriching their professional capabilities.

Guided by experienced faculty and real-world applications, we strive to cultivate critical thinking, ethical leadership, and career-readiness, ensuring our graduates are equipped to make a meaningful impact in the global marketplace.

Degree Programs

The associate in applied science in program equips students with essential financial and managerial skills.

  • Prepares students for entry-level accounting positions

  • Covers financial accounting, managerial accounting, and business law

The associate in applied science in program prepares graduates to lead in today’s competitive market

  • Prepares students for careers in sales, retail management, and marketing coordination

The associate in applied science in program prepares graduates to become licensed ophthalmic dispensers who provide visual examinations and measurement for corrective vision with glasses or contact lenses. They work alongside optometrists and ophthalmologists to provide comprehensive eye care.

  • Prepares graduates for the licensing examination to become an ophthalmic dispenser

  • Imparts skills in fitting and dispensing eyewear

  • Teaches optical anatomy, eye care, and frame styling

  • Prepares students for work as opticianry professionals, ensuring proper vision correction

The associate in science is program and bachelor of science in program blend creativity with business acumen, offering students a unique insight into the fashion industry’s evolving landscape. At the bachelor’s level, the Business and Technology of Fashion program deepens students' understanding of the fashion industry, combining technical training with business strategy.
